Lazy August Pictures

On Saturday mornings, Milo and I had our little tradition going: We'd get up early (obviously), go to the Carrboro Farmer's Market (pictured here), and then spend the rest of the morning at the airplane park.

We call this place the airplane park, but it's actually the runway to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). There's an outdoor observation deck, as well as this big sandpile for kids to play at. Behind those small planes is one of the main runways for the planes. The other runway is what Milo is looking toward. This place is easily Milo's favorite place on the planet. Unfortunately, we haven't been back since early September.

This is Milo with our friends Miriam and Adina. We know them because Curtis works with Miriam's husband, David. We've started hanging out almost weekly, and it's really great! I'm crazy about Miriam, and it's....um... interesting to see Milo take advantage of his elder status with Adina. Usually it's adorable, but I've definitely seen signs of a bully emerging when he thinks Adina shouldn't be playing with a particular toy. sigh It was so much easier to watch when other kids took toys away from my kid. Now when it's my kid doing the snatching, I freak. I hope this phase goes quickly, for both of our sakes! Milo and I are both showing our unattractive qualities!
